If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Center Hotel Plaza in Reykjavik
Start of Trip: 10:00 a.m. at the Park Inn by Radisson.
Getting to the site: Our program begins with breakfast at the Park Inn by Radisson, a transfer will be provided for those who have purchased their air through Road Scholar. Your Group Leader will meet you outside the Arrivals hall and escort you to the coach waiting for you at the airport.
If you have booked your flights independently there is a possibility to reserve a seat on the group arrival transfer that departs the Reykjavik airport on arrival day. Instructions on how to reserve a space will be available in your Final Information Packet.
Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the airport to the Park Inn. It costs approximately 3000-3500 ISK ($30 USD). The ride takes approximately 10 minutes.
Your trip ends on: Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Reykjavik at Center Hotel Plaza
End of Trip: Transfers continuing through the day depending on flight departure times. 11:00 Noon hotel check-out.
Getting to the airport: If you have booked your flights independently or plan to extend your stay in Reykjavik, you have a several options:
Take the Flybus to Keflavik airport. Make a reservation for Flybus at the hotel reception desk the day before
your departure. Take a taxi from the hotel to BSI bus terminal approximately 45 minutes prior to your chosen Flybus departure time. There are departures operating every 90 minutes. This will cost approx. 3900 ISK per person for the Flybus and from 2100 ISK for the taxi (1-4 passengers).
Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the hotel to the airport. It costs approximately 20,000 ISK for up to 4
people.
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Road Scholar no longer offers complimentary transfers to participants with “Program Only” status. However, the Arrival transfer on this program is an exception to that policy due to the distance and complicated nature of traveling to the first hotel. If you are arriving early or booked your own air, there is a possibility to reserve a seat on the group arrival transfer.
Please note that if you are booking your own air, your flight should arrive NO LATER than 9:00 a.m. in order to be eligible to join a transfer.
Reservations can be made by contacting rseuropeprograms@roadscholar.org no later than 30 DAYS prior to the program start date. You MUST include your program number and date in the subject line of your request. If you arranged air on your own, please include your flight information with your transfer request.
Please note that we will not have a Final Transfer Schedule until approx. 6 weeks prior to the program start date, and it will be included in your Final Information Packet. As long as your flight falls into the parameters listed above, you will be approved to join the transfer. However, we will not be able to give you your specific transfer assignment until 6 weeks prior to the program start.
Transfer times will vary from departure to departure. There is no guarantee that the transfer schedule will coincide with independently booked flights. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404.
Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
