Amazing trip. Great bus mates from all over the U.S.A. Everyone friendly and interesting to talk to. KT is a great tour leader with her easy going personality. Many thanks to everyone for bringing smiles to my face. Road Scholar, thank you for another educational adventure.

As someone born and raised in California, Arkansas seemed a foreign land until I got there, and was greeted warmly by everyone everywhere. There was so much to see and experience. I had a fabulous experience, and would highly recommend it as long as you can deal with heat and humidity.

Excellent trip—an additional day in Mountain View would have provided more insights to the Ozark culture. The reading list focused on the politics of Arkansas, but I suggest a book on the Ozark culture of Arkansas would have shown the appreciation of nature and crafts of northern Arkansas. I also suggest elimination of Living in Little Rock with Miss Little Rock from the recommended reading list (lengthy and confused relationship to the scheduled program).

Why Arkansas? I'm sure most of us heard that when asked why we were traveling here with Road Scholar. Well I can now answer the history, the art, the warmth of the Ar-kans-ans, the beauty of country side and the gardens and the chapels and and. Take this trip. It is delightful, a hoot, and surprisingly impactful on so many levels.

This trip is a winner and so is our Tour Guide, Tari! Arkansas is a beautiful state- so green you could think you were in Ireland! Folk culture in the Ozarks, the magnificent Crystal Bridges Museum, Clinton Library, Little Rock's Central High School where the Little Rock Nine desegregated the school, Hot Springs, where the springs and the characters were hot, and charming Eureka Springs- they're all gems. Good fun, good accommodations, good food, good company, and great activities! And if someone asks you why you're going to Arkansas, tell 'em it's the only state mentioned in the Bible. (Noah stepped out of the Arkansas the rainbow!)

Just finished this trip to Arkansas and I thought it was one of their best! The itinerary is amazing and the tour covers a good portion of the State. We had a wonderful group of 34 people and developed a great sense of camaraderie. Even though I was a single, I easily met lots of people with common interests. Our tour guide was exceptional and I learned so much. High points of the trip were the Clinton Presidential Library, Little Roach Central High School, Crystal Bridges Museum of Art and Hot Springs. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who would like to learn more history about the South.

I did not receive the final program material, which caused me to get off on the wrong footthe first day or two, but I consulted the earlier materials, which were with me, and didn't miss much.

I appreciated this opportunity to see Arkansas and its hidden secrets. I enjoyed learning more about the history of the state and about the Clintons and Winthrop Rockefeller (whom I had never heard of yet had such an impact on the state), seeing the stunning architecture of Crystal Bridges art museum and area which I had been totally unaware of, seeing an ultra charming Eureka Springs (where I think we should have spent more time or even overnight), hearing a rousing Folk Music concert at the Ozark Folk Center, and walking around history-oozing Hot Springs. I also loved my 12th floor room at the Little Rock Doubletree Hotel for the incredible view of the Arkansas River (and their chocolate chip cookies, too!)

This program should be titled “Why Arkansas?” Most of us enrolled to answer this question. It was a wonderful trip on the road with a perfect blend of topics, tours and activities…food and camaraderie. Our instructor was top notch and encouraged participants to get to know each other. Meals were superior and lodging fine. Highly recommend this program!
