The adventure was great. My granddaughter had a fun time with the activities and the music. The tour is well design and the pace is good. We grandparents learn a lot and had a good time doing it. Both Leaders were knowledgeable, fun, and just great. Can't wait to take the next trip with my Granddaughter! THANK YOU.

My grandson and I had a fabulous time on this program! We developed a much stronger bond, both through our trip planning and through our experiences together at Universal. The program description in the Road Scholar catalogue is very accurate; everything was exactly as described! It is very well organized and run; Mike and Jose do a great job with the kids. My grandson loved everything at Universal and was excited to experience the sorting hat ceremony, wand-making, and butterbeer-making fun organized by Road Scholar. (We noticed other kids at the hotel who were not part of our program but were very curious and wanted to participate in our activites too!) I especially enjoyed the "wizard rock" concert. A couple things to be aware of: your child will need to be at least 51 inches tall to ride the really big rollercoasters (due to height/safety restrictions). Also, be prepared for summer weather in Florida - it is tropical! Since I live in Florida I knew what to expect but some of the other grandparents were a bit overwhelmed by the high heat and humidity. I brought cooling towels and mini-fans, which helped while waiting in lines.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a great program for grandchildren and grandparents. Several participants brought their robes and interactive wands. We learned to made wands and we stirred up a batch of butter beer. The Wizard Rock concert was a lot of fun. We also learned about raptors (especially owls). The VIP tours behind the scenes at Universal helped us understand how theme parks operate and how difficult it can be to keep everything working. Our leaders, Mike and Jose, were very organized and did so much work that we did not see to make sure the experience was a great one.

This program is a great way to navigate the park and understand some of its backstage workings. The Harry Potter experience enhanced our park time and my grandchild felt like she was really there. Great guides-- great experience.

A very fun trip. My granddaughter and I had a blast. She made new friends. We learned how to make butterbeer, and wands. And rode all the big roller coasters. Seeing rides from behind, and yes, under the scenes was amazing. Our leaders, Mike Fowler and Jose Diaz, made the trip truly Magical.

Wonderful program, but it is ideal for kids 10 years and up. Rides and creatures may be too realistic for younger children.

This trip exceeded my expectations. The group leaders were outstanding, the learning opportunities were varied and of interest to both young and old plus everyone had fun together! The one on one time with my 12 yr. old grandson was a learning experience in itself and created lifelong memories for both of us, which was my intention. I have 4 more opportunities ahead to travel with Grands and can't wait to enjoy more learning adventures with each of them in the near future. Thank you Road Scholar. Keep up the good work.!!

Best program for grandparents and grandchildren. We all made a lot of friends and the kids bonded the first night. It was nice having other kids there for our grandson to ride the roller coasters with because neither one of us likes them.

This is my third (and favorite) Road Scholar grandparent trip. I took my 9 year old grandson and 11 year old granddaughter, and found it to be the ideal adventure for all of us. The Harry Potter theme runs through the whole program, but so do amusement park and poolside activities. Because many of the rides were done with the group formally or informally, it didn't matter that I avoided the extreme roller coasters - the kids could choose to ride or not ride. The leaders were super-experienced at organizing everything -- Harry Potter games and activities, a fabulous Harry Potter band, park experiences, swimming parties and more. The balance of free time and structured time was perfect. I loved the accommodations at Cabana Bay - mid-century decor, food for every taste, great staff, comfortable, clean rooms. Being part of a Road Scholar trip added so much to the experience. The behind the scene tours at Universal were top notch, the group bonding of both kids and grandparents, the guidance through the park, the many, many Harry Potter specific activities all made this a great trip. If it's available in 5-6 years for my now 4 year old granddaughter, and I can do the walking, sign me up!

This program is amazing. It included a five night stay at the Cabana Bay Resort (a mid-century vibe, which really inspired conversations about what life was like when WE were kids. ) it also included most meals. We got a three day ticket good for both IOA and HS. The Sunday night we arrived, we met the others in the program, had dinner, and, with the use of the sorting hat, the kids were sorted into houses. We had two VIP tours on two of our days, with behind the scenes views of several rides and front of the line access to ride them. Each afternoon there were indoor, air-conditioned Harry Potter activities (wand making, butter-beer making, e.g.)most evenings we were free to return to the park or just call it a day. We had a “rest” day when we visited an Avian Center and learned about birds of prey, up close and personal. That afternoon the kids were taught how to play Quidditch by Quidditch team members, and they got to play a game. This was the highlight of the whole program for many of the kids. One of the great things about this program was how quickly the kids bonded with each other. Talking Harry Potter spells and casting them with their wands, they were completely entertained! The last night we all had dinner together at Margaritaville, and the Hogwartz trophy was awarded to the house with the most points. (Slytherins won) I would highly recommend this for grandparents. I did come home exhausted, but though days were long and hot, the pacing was quite doable. Kids were kept constantly busy, and we adults even had time to talk to each other. The leaders were wonderful with the kids, and my grandson couldn’t stop telling his parents and sister all about the exciting things he'd done.

I just completed the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with my grandson. I would highly recommend it. In addition to exclusive access to Universal Orlando, we learned to play Quidditch and make butter beer, visited a bird sanctuary and made some wonderful new friends. The leaders were excellent and truest enhanced our experience. Many thumbs up!

My husband had a "Muggles" shirt because I explained to him it meant "I know nothing about Harry Potter." And yet he enjoyed the program as much as I and my grandson did. The leaders were excellent and were very knowledgeable about Universal Studios. The parts of the program in the theme park were well-planned and gave us a great advantage over going by ourselves. There was good balance between theme park activity and other fun activities in the hotel. We had to leave early because of illness, and yet I often think back on the time we were able to participate with fond memories. The leaders made getting to know others in the group an easy process. I highly recommend this program if your grandchild is into Harry Potter!

The trip was a total success to the grandchildren. Extra activities were well planned and well-timed; e.g., music concert, pool party, crafts. Behind-the-scenes tours were quite interesting. The two chaperones/group leaders were cordial and well informed. Check-in at the hotel took far too long.

It was so satisfying to see how all the grandchildren bonded together and were engaged in all the activities as a group. It made our job as grandparents that much easier.

I can whole wholeheartedly recommend the Road Scholar program to anyone interested. We did our trip with our grandson, and it was a lot of fun. We also heard from others on our trip who had been on other trips as adults only and they had only good things to say about their experience.
