Morning:
11:00 a.m. Welcome (15 minutes). We will convene with Group Leader Kevin Durjun who will conduct a welcome meeting. 11:15 a.m. Lecture (45 minutes). Kevin Durjun will engage in conversation with Nigel West on the Cambridge spy ring. Nigel is a renowned British military intelligence historian. He is the author of 25 books including “Triplex” — published by Yale University Press and co-authored with Oleg Tsarev, a retired KGB officer. It reveals the precise nature and extent of the damage done to the British intelligence establishment during World War II by the notorious “Cambridge Five” spy ring: Kim Philby, Donald Maclean, Guy Burgess, Anthony Blunt, and John Cairncross.

Kevin Durjun to be joined by Nigel West for a conversation on the practice of “Honeytraps” in espionage, using the seductive arts to get high-level intelligence. One of the most recent of these to be uncovered was Maria Butina, who was arrested in Washington in 2018 and charged with acting in the United States as an agent of the Russian Federation.
