Hinton Rural Life Center is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Nantahala National Forest and Appalachian Trail. In the summer, Hinton Center serves as the site for adult and youth groups doing community service projects. Road Scholar participants stay in the Joe Ervin Retreat House as well as the Nadine House. The house has a common area kitchen and satellite TV in the living room only. Good to know: There is no landline phone service, but there is a strong cell phone signal for most carriers. Wireless internet access is available throughout the campus. Meals are served cafeteria-style in the dining hall; bus own table. This is a smoke-free facility.
