After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

This information about travel documents pertains to participants holding U.S. passports. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.

United Kingdom

• Your passport must have 1 blank passport page(s) for entry/exit visas in this country.

• A travel visa is required and it must be obtained in advance.

• The cost of this visa is not included in the cost of your trip.

• Your visa can be secured electronically. You may use the services of our designated visa service, Passport Visa Express, please see details on the process and the price at Passport Visa Express. If you prefer you may secure your electronic visa on your own, see the notes below for details.

Please note: American & Canadian passport holders traveling to or through the United Kingdom will need authorization via the UK Government's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) Visa. The application is available online and via the UK ETA App at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta#apply-for-an-eta. You will need your passport information to complete the form. Once received, the application is expected to be processed within three business days. Once you have received confirmation, it will be valid for two years or until your passport expires (whichever occurs first). You must apply before entering the UK.

Ireland

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Earls Court House Hotel in Killarney

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 5:00 p.m. Welcome Meeting & Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner in hotel dining room.

Getting to the site: Travelling from the airport to the hotel by public transport involves two buses. Start by taking the route 343 bus to Limerick from the bus stops outside the terminal. The timetable can be found here: https://www.shannonairport.ie/getattachment/Passengers/To-From/Bus/BE-Rout-343-343-1517230566.pdf.aspx/?lang=en-IE Alight from the bus at William Street in Limerick, the penultimate stop on the route. The walk between bus stops in Limerick is approximately 1000 feet. From the William Street stop, stay on the same side of the road and walk northwest along William Street to the crossroads with O'Connell Street. Cross O'Connell Street, then walk northeast (i.e. turn right after crossing) and take the next left towards Arthur's Quay Park. Walk along the side of the park opposite Arthur's Quay Shopping Centre, to the marked bus stop (red tarmac) closest to the river. Wait there for a route 300 bus to Killarney; both Eurobus and Dublin Coach operate buses on this route, with departures approximately once every two hours. The timetable can be found here: https://www.dublincoach.ie/all-timetables/route-300-m7-express The journey to Killarney takes approximately 1 hour 35 minutes; alight at the East Avenue Road bus stop. From the bus stop in Killarney, walk south along East Avenue Road, passing Killarney Cultural Centre on your left. Keep left and walk down the first exit road on the left, " The Haha". Continue straight along this road, straight across the next roundabout and continue down Muckross Road for about 500 meters. You will pass the Dromhall hotel on your left. When you see Glena House hotel across the road on your right, then take the next road left, Woodlawn Road. The Earls Court House Hotel is 1 minute's walk on your left. Private transfers from Shannon Airport to Killarney cost between 210 and 300 EUR (2023 prices).

Your trip ends on: Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Dublin at Camden Court Hotel

End of Trip: 9:00 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out.

Getting to the airport: Aircoach offers services from Dublin city to Dublin Airport; your Group Leader will advise you on how best to use these services. The fare is typically EUR8 (2023 prices). A taxi to the airport from central Dublin should typically cost approximately EUR20-25 (2023 prices), dependent upon city traffic.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Road Scholar will also make arrangements to transfer participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. Please note that our program coordinator in Ireland, EIL will be in contact with you by email to check your arrival plans with you. They will usually be in touch within 2 weeks of your program start date. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404.
