Such a grand trip with the best Guide and Instructor in Joan and Lee. Today is November 18, 2024 and I am finally beginning to write my memories of my September grand adventure. The history and beauty of Colorado - you have to actually go there to appreciate all of it. Road Scholar is simply the best!

This is an excellent trip in Western Colorado where every day is filled with magnificent scenery that you will see no where else. A stunning visual experience of high mountains, deep valleys, sand dunes, canyons, all while traveling in comfort with short walks and side trips.

This adventure is a great sampler of some of the lesser visited National Parks and Monumnets in Colorado. It is not a hiking trip, so keep in mind that "keep the pace" is limited hiking as advertised. Very educational program and great quality for the price. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best, if not the best, Road Scholar trip I have been on. Colorado is replete with magnificent scenery, cultural variety, and geological history going back millennia. And the tour guides, Joan and Lee, added such rich texture to the experience by sharing so much additional details about each site. They both live in Colorado and know its deep history, which they shared with us in great detail. What a wonderful learning adventure.

For those looking for more hiking experiences, they may want to look for other programs.

Under the expert leadership of Joan and Lee, this program will offer you opportunities to view the beauty of Colorado's national parks and monuments, to learn about the important culture and contributions of the Ute and Pueblo tribes, and to appreciate the rich history and geology of the Centennial State. There are also fun extras beyond the parks, but I won't list them here and ruin the surprise. Suggestion for those who have never experienced Colorado's altitude and dryness: Consider packing hand cream, chapstick, and possibly nasal spray (Lotions are usually provided by the hotels.).

A good bit of the walking is just getting on and off the bus to use the facilities or walk into the Visitors Center. Very little actual hiking. The parks were terrific.

Visiting the Majestic Parks and Monuments in Colorado was spectacular in many ways- of course, the scenery is breathtaking and the group leaders were superb in every way! I had the opportunity to learn so much about Colorado and its indigenous people as well as meet travelers from all over the United States. It was a truly memorable experience!

Colorado, The Magnificent Seven more than lives up to its billing. We saw many new and fantastic places and learned more about Native American culture and the Ute nation.

This was a phenomenal tour of Colorada, encompassing not only the 7 National Parks and Monuments included, but much of the state as we made our way around this well-planned tour! So much history and information were included! The guide and driver were exceptional, as were all of our fellow travelers. We enjoyed this trip immensely and made many new friends for life! Was a pure delight!

This road trip in Colorado takes you to 7 parks and they are all amazing, yet different from each other. The trip is very well organized by Joan and Lee and both are quite knowledgable about Colorado and it's history. The bus rides are long most days and the scenery is splendid. Lee was an amazing bus driver, warm and friendly and a very safe driver, but beware that most of the parks have windy roads and many hairpin turns, which didn't bother me. You will learn a lot about Colorado today, it's culture and history.

As the home of spectacular national parks and monuments, Colorado is the place to visit. Our group of former strangers coalesced into a family as we traveled awestruck by the geology, history, and beauty that we were seeing with the aid of excellent guides.

This is the best way to see all the great parks and monuments in Western Colorado. Joan and Lee are very informative guides, along with the rangers at a couple parks that joined us to add their information. There are some times when the bus ride seems long, but to cover this much territory you need to have a few longer days. The scenery is fantastic, and our tour was at the peak of fall color. Very happy to have participated in this trip.

This trip included all the wester Colorado National Parks and Monuments. Joan and Lee were great, the scenery was beautiful and it was the optimal time for color change on the aspen and cottonwood trees. We even were on top of a rainbow!

Such a great trip through our adopted state! We saw some of the "Hidden Gems" of Colorado, like the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument--a place I had never experienced. More surprising places included Colorado Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison Natl. Park, and of course, Mesa Verde! Our guides, Joan and Lee were extremely competent--very organized and prepared. And they shared many great stories of historic Colorado figures, like John Otto, Adeline Hornbek, and others. I highly recommend this tour!

Before this trip, I had never heard of some of the National Parks and Monuments that we visited, but I am so happy that I had the opportunity to see and learn about these magnificent places. Each place is different and equally amazing, and this trip is a wonderful overview of National Parks and Monuments in the State of Colorado.

The program was described as the Mighty Seven National Parks and Monuments, but we actually saw several other wonderful areas: the Garden of the Gods outside Colorado Springs, the Ute Museum, the Silverton Historic train, the True Grit Restaurant in Ridgway, the fruit orchards in Delta, the Polish feast/luncheon at Alexander Lake Lodge near Grand Mesa, St. Kathryn Cellars in Palisades, Art on the Corner and Engstrom's ice cream factory in Grand Junction and wood carvings in Craig City Park. We were truly on-the-go for this trip, and I enjoyed every minute!!
