It was wonderful to see these places we've always heard about and be able to connect them with specific Greek gods and myths.

The sites, accommodations, meals, guide, and driver were top notch. The 11 hour flight in economy seats was brutal. We spent $150 per seat to upgrade on the return and made it tolerable.

Fantastic tour from beginning to end.
Our group leader, Sophia was excellent in every way. We all benefited from her immense knowledge and experience guiding. We also had an excellent and safe bus driver, George. The bus was so clean and comfortable.
This was our first Road Scholar program and we are already planning for the next one.
Greece is a beautiful country with lovely people and incredible history. We saw so many wonderful places and heard the stories and the history to make it come alive. The program met and exceeded our expectations in all categories. The weather in May was outstanding and crowds not overwhelming.
The other participants on the tour were the best group of people we have ever traveled with as a group. It was a pleasure every day to see and share experiences with our group of like minded travelers.
The accommodations were nice and comfortable and the food at the included meals was excellent and a good quality as well as good variety.
We expect to travel again on another tour with Road Scholar.

Five Stars! Mainland Greece, especially the southwest Peloponnese region, is so rich in landscapes, including oceans, coastlines, mountains, iconic ancient archeological sites and (of course) olive trees. This program gives you an immersive taste of it all, from a cooking class saluting Greek foods to wine tasting in a region ripe with vineyards to a visit at an olive farm to learn about pressing olive oil (including a tasting with an olive oil sommelier and a farm-to-table dining experience). The places you'll visit are magical and flavorful and rooted in both the past and present. From Athens to Nafpoli to Kalamata to Arachova, and from the Aegean to the Ionian sea and up Mount Parnassus, you'll need every moment of this adventure to soak in all there is to learn. -- Lizzie G., Boston, Mass.

Interested in Greek myths and history? This is the program for you. I had a wonderful time visiting ancient sites I've read about with terrific Group Leader Sophia and seeing modern Greek life in a number of towns and cities as well. Very well organized and educational program.

This is a very ambitious trip and it covers a lot of territory. Athens can be quite crowded but Nauplion is a welcome change and it is worth spending some time walking around. Unfortunately, free time and opportunities to eat out on your own are limited, so here are some suggestions.
In Athens, Cave of the Acropolis is a short walk up the hill toward Annafiotika and has goo seafood and it is out of the way of the tourists in the Plaka. In Nauplion go about a block past the tourist restaurants on the waterfront and there are some good seafood restaurants there. However, you will have to skip the hotel diner to find the time, if you are ok with that. For the remainder of the trip the hotels are too far away from anything, but some of the meals provided by RS are very good.
