In New Bedford, Mass., explore the Fishing Heritage Museum and stroll the working waterfront, a hub of America’s seafaring industry. Walk Nantucket’s cobblestone streets, lined with historic homes that invoke tales of the island’s whaling past, and explore its renowned Whaling Museum. On Martha’s Vineyard, experience the island’s museum and picturesque landscapes. Take in the dramatic bluffs and quiet preserves of Rhode Island’s Block Island before heading to Newport for a classic lobster bake and an exploration of the opulent Avenue of Mansions. In Bristol, enjoy the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame, celebrating the golden age of yachting.
